What to expect at the 2025 Ohio Surface Water Policy Conference (OSWPC)!

The Ohio Water Policy Conference will provide updates on the environmental laws and regulations that affect development across the State of Ohio, including Sections 401, 402, and 404 of the Clean Water Act, Ohio’s Isolated Wetland Law (Ohio Revised Code 6111), the Endangered Species Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and related environmental statutes. Collectively, these laws and regulations can have substantial effects on economic, infrastructure, energy, ecological restoration, and institutional development within the State.

The conference will bring together environmental consultants, attorneys, and agency staff operating within Ohio's regulatory landscape to gather insights, exchange expertise, and engage with key stakeholders to explore innovative solutions to help navigate this complex and constantly evolving framework of environmental policies and regulations. Conference faculty will include industry technical specialists, legal experts, regulators from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the US Army Corps of Engineers, and representatives from other state and federal natural resource agencies. Presentations from attorneys will examine legal developments, policy initiatives, grant funded water quality programs, and regulatory reforms shaping the landscape of environmental law and policy in Ohio, and their implications for project planning and implementation.

The speakers’ collective knowledge will provide invaluable first-hand, real-world perspectives on the effects of recent regulatory initiatives and emerging challenges associated with land and infrastructure development.
